Deborah E. Blue, MD, is an expert with more than 20 years of professional experience within the medical community, specializing in the fields of molecular diagnostics, medical microbiology, clinical pathology, and laboratory testing procedures. As Laboratory Director of MiraVista Diagnostics, she oversees day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring quality and regulatory standards are upheld. Her diverse expertise shapes strategic direction and will allow MiraVista to expand our menu of services.
With her regular professional contributions to research, Deb has been involved in the authorship of more than 50 print and electronic publications, including atlases, book chapters, research articles, abstracts, and posters. In the time prior to her appointment with MiraVista, she has held positions as a pathologist, laboratory director, technical director and medical director across a range of laboratories and practices. She holds specialty board status in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology, as well as subspecialty certification in medical microbiology.
Dr. Blue received her MD from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She has held academic appointments at the Indiana University School of Medicine as well as the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, teaching medical students, graduate students, pathology residents and fellows, and clinical laboratory science students. She is an active member of many professional organizations including the American Society for Microbiology, Association for Molecular Pathology, American Society for Clinical Pathology, and College of American Pathologists.
