President

Headshot for Heather Wheat Largura.Headshot for Heather Wheat Largura.Heather Wheat Largura serves as President of MiraVista Diagnostics, a family-owned specialty diagnostic laboratory and IVD manufacturer founded by her father, Dr. Lawrence Joseph Wheat, focused on systemic fungal infections and fungal pneumonia. She became President in 2026 upon Dr. Wheat’s retirement, having previously served as the company’s Vice President. Her connection to MiraVista’s mission dates back decades: in the early 1990s she worked as a laboratory technician in the company’s Histoplasmosis Reference Lab, contributing to early antigen assay research, and she is a co-author on a foundational 1997 paper examining cross-reactivity in Histoplasma antigen testing. She went on to train as a dentist and orthodontist, practicing in the USAF, public health and private practice settings for many years, before returning to MiraVista as an independent contractor reviewing scientific literature and research data and later rejoining the company in executive leadership.

As President, Heather is accountable to MiraVista’s Board of Directors for the company’s strategic direction, financial health, and organizational culture across its laboratory testing, IVD, and CRO business lines. She partners with the executive team to keep quality and regulatory oversight — including CAP, CLIA, and FDA requirements — aligned with the company’s growth, while preserving the scientific rigor and family ownership that have defined MiraVista since its founding. Her tenure at MiraVista and her role in leading the transition from her father’s founding leadership, give her a first-hand appreciation for the specialized expertise that differentiates MiraVista in the fungal diagnostics field.
